‘Tis the Season to be Jolly…& Show Off in PowerPoint
Here at Eyeful, Christmas means many things. Too many parties, extraordinary levels of food consumption and the annual PowerPoint Christmas Card Design competition.
The winning designer’s prize is a heady mixture of professional pride and the ability to choose the charity to which Eyeful will make a hefty contribution. After much jostling for position and plain old design inspiration, our 2010 winner is Nacho – check out his masterpiece here:
Nacho has chosen to support the wonderful work of Médecins Sans Frontières – a great choice.
On behalf of the entire Eyeful team across the globe, we wish you a wonderful Christmas and a peaceful and happy New Year.
Sustained Growth through US Presentation Partnership
Eyeful is delighted to announce a strategic partnership with Sales and Presentation training experts 2Win! Global. This partnership brings together the two market leaders in the development and delivery of a new presentation methodology, "Blended Presenting"
Eyeful Presentation’s in depth knowledge of presentation development and design when combined with 2Win! Global’s market leading training expertise delivers a unique training course for their combined and interlinked client base.
Both companies believe that, whilst well developed in some areas, the vast majority of presentation consultancy and training does not deliver the requisite skills and techniques to fully address the needs of today’s corporate markets. The joint offering from Eyeful Presentations and 2Win! Global provides presenters with a range of options to pull upon and is being termed “Blended Presenting”.
“Formally launching the Blended Presentation methodology has been on our wish list for some time” explains Eyeful’s Simon Morton. “We decided to hold back until we found the right partner to go to market with this and now we can ensure that with 2Win! we can develop and support this programme together across the globe”.
It is Eyeful’s view that many organisations do not invest properly in their presentations or their skills training. The unique “Blended Presenting” methodology enables clients to get the best of both worlds in a combined product set.

The two organisations already share a number of high profile clients such as Microsoft, Adobe and Software AG and there is already significant interest levels in the new offering.
Eyeful Showcased At Presentation Summit 2010
The annual gathering of PowerPoint and Presentation Experts in San Diego will get more than they bargained for this year with Eyeful's work being showcased as part of the event.
The Presentation Summit attracts presentation thought leaders and practitioners from across the globe so the gang from Eyeful were delighted to share some of their PowerPoint skills with the audience.
“It’s an honour to have been chosen to show a few examples of our work with such a learned audience”, explained Eyeful USA’s Michael Lowstetter. “We’ve made some great friends and partners here over the last couple of years so being able to share elements of our Presentation Optimization process with them is a real pleasure”.
For a series of everso slightly tongue-in-cheek Podcasts from the Presentation Summit, check out our blog entry here.
Another Record Year Done & Dusted
As the finance team tie up all the final details of year end reporting, the rest of the Eyeful gang is celebrating yet another record year. A cunning combination of presentation expertise, market leading PowerPoint design skills and good old fashioned customer service has meant new customers, repeat orders and increased market share.
“The last financial year has flown by”, explained Eyeful’s MD, Simon Morton. “Over the last 12 months, we’ve had the pleasure of welcoming some huge new clients like eBay, Tesco, Coca-Cola and Citibank to the Eyeful fold. Just as important, every member of the team has worked incredibly hard to strengthen our relationships and engagements with existing clients.
He continues, “The net result is another huge step forward in terms of financial growth and market dominance. That’s all very flattering but the one thing we’re all most proud of is the continued high praise and positive feedback we get from our customers – that’s the real measure of success over the last 12 months.
On behalf of the Eyeful team both in the UK and US, thank you to all the customers, partners and friends who have helped made this another record year.”
RIBA come calling again
We're delighted to confirm that Eyeful's very own Simon Morton has been asked to speak again at the upcoming RIBA CPD Provider Conference in October.
In particular, Simon has been asked to share his views and experiences on the creation of CPD presentations, a subject close to his heart in light of Eyeful’s dedicated CPD presentation service
“I’m chuffed to bits to be speaking again at the CPD Providers forum”, explained Simon. “We’ve worked hard over the last few years to build a reputation as the company CPD providers turn to for development of their CPD presentations. This year’s conference will focus on the options available to CPD providers as they focus on getting the most out of their CPD presentations”.
Eyeful have long supported companies in the development of engaging and informative CPD presentations. Realising that this specialised area needed further development, they launched a focussed CPD Presentations offering offering the UK’s only dedicated CPD presentation consultant.
To learn more about the CPD services, interviews with existing CPD provider customers and contact information, please click here.
Presentation Design Team Grows…Again
We're chuffed to bits to welcome two new PowerPoint design gurus to Eyeful Towers. Nicola and Claire bring with them experience, ideas and an unnerving knowledge of PowerPoint and Keynote. We're not kidding…they're a mouseclick away from full on geekdom.
"It's the perfect time to bolster the presentation design team" commented Head of Delivery, Liz Priestnall "The addition of Nicola and Claire to the team extends our scale and abilities far beyond those of our competitors and allows us to meet the ever growing demand for quality and impactful presentation collateral. As our customer list continues to grow, we need to invest in the best PowerPoint design resource available – Nicola and Claire fit the bill perfectly. Not only that, they both also make a mean cup of tea!".
Eyeful launches dedicated CPD Presentations service
The world of Continuing Professional Development presentations is one fraught with complexity and pitfalls. To this end, Eyeful are proud to launch a dedicated service for CPD providers across a range of industries to address their presentation woes.
Following our long term success with supporting RIBA CPD Providers in the optimisation of their presentation materials, we are delighted to be able to roll this specialised service out to CPD providers from all industries.
As part of this process, we have created a separate CPD section of the Eyeful website. For more details of the service, interviews with existing CPD provider customers and contact information, please click here.
2010 Business Presentation Survey Webinars
We were thrilled at the level of interest in our 2010 Business Presentation Survey. The survey on the behaviours, frustrations and plans of business presenters across the globe certainly captured people’s imaginations. So much so that our webinars were oversubscribed!
Fret not if you were unable to join us on the day. Through the wonders of PowerPoint Repurposing, we’re delighted to be able to share the survey results as a web presentation, YouTube video and, in due course, a fancy visual Podcast.
To learn more about the survey, the detailed results and Eyeful’s response, drop us a line or give us a call here.
Repurposing PowerPoint – Practicing What We Preach
Eyeful proudly unveils a “multicast” presentation regarding getting even greater ROI from the humble PowerPoint deck. We’ve taken a recent conference keynote of ours and magically turned it into a web presentation, YouTube video and Podcast.
Is it a PowerPoint presentation? Or a Podcast? Or an interactive PDF document? Or possible a YouTube video?
In short, it’s all of these. And to prove the point, we’ve taken a presentation recently delivered at a RIBA conference and repurposed it into a YouTube video (check our YouTube channel if you don’t believe us) and a Web Presentation. A Podcast follows shortly (naturally) however in the meantime, sit back and enjoy a short presentation on how and why to get more out of your humble PowerPoint presentation:
Just how bad are business presentations today?
The presentation world is buzzing with anticipation as we prepare to release the findings of our 2010 Business Presentation Survey.
From exposing the extent of PowerPoint presentation abuse through to celebrating new advances in design and technology, the survey gets to the core of how businesses are using presentations today.
250 corporate presenters contributed to the survey, spilling the beans on their use of PowerPoint and other presentation technologies.
“We’ve seen a lot of positive changes since our initial survey back in 2007. The phenomenon of Death by PowerPoint is recognised by businesses globally and some are making concerted efforts to address it head on,” commented Eyeful’s Managing Director Simon Morton. “That said, it would seem that there is still a lot work to be done in some areas. This year’s survey gives us a clear indication of progress in the last three years along with the impact of new presentation technologies such as Google Presentations and Prezi.”
The findings will be presented in two upcoming webinars in the UK and North America on the 3rd August. Spaces are limited for the two events and interest levels following the survey are very high so the events are expected to be fully booked.

Another Record Quarter Done & Dusted A brace of new clients found their way to Eyeful’s door in their quest for PowerPoint and presentation salvation…and we were only too happy to oblige.
Over the last 3 months we’ve had the pleasure of striking up new working relationships with the likes of Barclaycard, Azzuri and Equimedia as well as working with longstanding clients like Coca-Cola, eBay and American Express on new projects.
All of this frenetic activity means the Eyeful team is celebrating it’s most successful quarter to date.
“It’s been an extremely busy 3 months for everyone in the business”, explained Head of Sales Sally Bailey. “Companies are increasingly recognising the importance of getting their presentations right, especially in tougher economic conditions. We’re excited to be working with an amazing client base on ensuring that when they stand up to present, they are armed with the most compelling and engaging presentation decks possible”.
To learn more about the impact Eyeful has on it’s clients’ presentations, check out recent project samples here or listen to them speaking about their experiences here.
Your Vote Counts! Eyeful launches The Business Presentations Survey 2010 Some time ago, Eyeful conducted an online survey to understand just how companies were using PowerPoint. Many of the findings were a surprise. Some were downright astonishing. Time and technology wait for no one, especially in the world of presentations. With this in mind, we decided that it’s now time to survey again and see quite how things have changed.
The Business Presentation Survey 2010 has been designed to report on the latest trends in presentations and quite how business people are reacting to the multitude of new technologies and thinking that they are bombarded by on a daily basis.
We’d really appreciate your time (3 minutes maximum) to answer a few short questions on when, why and how you use presentation software. As an extra incentive to ensure we get as many people involved as possible, we’re giving out 25 PowerPoint Amnesty Action Packs to a randomly picked sample of respondents. So what’s stopping you?!
We’ll be running the survey through until the 18th July so please don’t delay – your response and feedback is important!
June 2010 Eyeful Customers Speak Out!
What do American Express really think about their PowerPoint presentation? How did Medtronic rate their presentation design project?
We thought the best way to find out was to interview our clients…and then share them with visitors to our website. To listen to our clients telling it like it really is, click here.
May 2010 Exhibition Presentation Success for OI Software Intelligent Social Software experts OI Software called upon Eyeful to help them out for an important event presentation. The end result was stunning.
Urgency is often part of the deal when dealing with presentations for events so we took it in our stride and delivered what we believe was a top notch end product. As the interview featured on our blog demonstrates, they thought so too.
We’ve had the pleasure of working with them since and, to a man, they’re an extremely nice bunch. Oh, and their new presentations are rather fancy too...
April 2010 Eyeful highlights the link between Politics & Presentations The build up to the UK General Election has highlighted once and for all just how important quality presentations are in getting a message across.
Now we’re not highlighting our political bent here at Eyeful but watching Nick Clegg move from a nobody to a genuine contender has showcased just how important a good presentation can be. And what the first TV debate demonstrated really well was just how this works in reality.
April 2010 Eyeful releases “Gossip with a Guru” Podcasts
We’ve recorded a number of Podcasts with recognised experts in the field of PowerPoint, presentations and presenting.
We’ll be peppering the Blog and our iTunes channel with these Podcasts over the next few months.
First up is Jonty Pearce, Editor and Founder of Presentation Magazine.
Presentation Magazine (formerly Presentation Helper) is simply the most popular presentation resource site on the web. So once you have an audience with someone like Jonty, what do you ask? The answer was obvious – Death by PowerPoint. Click here to learn more.
April 2010 Eyeful partners with security experts InDorse Technologies
We’re delighted to have partnered with security experts InDorse Technologies to offer a service to ensure the integrity of your PowerPoint presentation files.
Here at Eyeful we like to be able to offer our clients what they need so we’ve partnered with a cutting edge company in data security, InDorse Technologies www.indorse-tech.com.
By using their technology we can now provide our clients with the ability to not only prevent presentation creep but also to know whenever a presentation has been opened, changed or forwarded.
Some organisations have to compliance with regulations or show due diligence with certain information and data. It is vital that they can demonstrate a knowledge of when data is tampered with. By using this new offering through the partnership of Eyeful and InDorse, they can now rest easy.
April 2010 Farewell Brainstorm Barn, Hello Eyeful Towers
Against the general flow of things in our market, here at Eyeful we’ve continued to grow in terms of customers, people and geography. One of the drawbacks of growth is that fact that we keep running out of space.
So we’ve upped sticks and moved to a fancy new office just down the road.
Not only has this move given us room to grow and further spread our wings, we’ve been able to make our client workshop area even better!
If you’re after an environment to spark the imagination and fire up the presentation creativity, this is it (oh, and the coffee and biscuits are very nice too). Pictures of our lovely new abode here
So clients and interested parties alike – don’t be a stranger! Give us a call and book some time to meet up with us at our lovely new offices (affectionately named Eyeful Towers).
March 2010 February? Phew, What A Scorcher!
According to the traditional weather reports, February was one of the coldest on record.
Not so for Eyeful with a host of wonderful new companies choosing to work with us on their PowerPoint presentations. Amongst those choosing us for Presentation Optimisation and PowerPoint Design in February were eBay, Visa and Coca-Cola.
The gang at Eyeful are proud as punch to add these A-list companies to our ever growing roster of happy customers.
“February was a great month for Eyeful with just the right mix of new business and repeat projects from our loyal customer base.” Explained Head of European Sales, Sally Bailey. “We’re particularly pleased with the fact that the majority of our new business wins have come from recommendations and word of mouth. We certainly seem to be leading the way in the world of PowerPoint optimisation and design. Exciting times”
February 2010 Making PowerPoint work harder
Eyeful has put out a heartfelt plea to companies across the land to do more with their PowerPoint presentations. We’re not talking presentation design here…we’re talking about “repurposing” your sales presentation into an impactful web presentation, Podcast, YouTube video or interactive PDF document.

February 2010 A Visual Experience - Anark signs Eyeful’s praises
We’re delighted with the feedback we received recently from Anark and Adobe on their recent PowerPoint presentation. Our cunning combination of PowerPoint design, storyboarding and presentation know-how led to a sales deck of the highest order!
Our very own Simon Morton has yet again been asked to present at the forthcoming CPD Providers Forum held by RIBA. Simon’s presentations have become somewhat of a tradition at RIBA events over the last few years with topics ranging from how to get more out of your PowerPoint presentation through to the vagaries of presentation design.
“I’m delighted to be returning to the stage at RIBA – it’s always a great event with some wonderful speakers”, said Simon. “This year will be particularly fun as we’re going to explode the myth of Death by PowerPoint. As always, we plan to raise a few eyebrows as well as provide the audience with a long list of things to do on their return to the office…”
If you would like one of the Eyeful team to share some of their presentation and PowerPoint insight at your event, drop us a line or give us a call.
January 2010 Bid & Large Pitch Support Services Now Available
We’re pleased as punch to announce that we’ve teamed up with our friends at Sales Engine to offer bid support services to our clients. The full press release can be accessed here.
Long story short, this blessed union was prompted by clients coming to us in a bit of a flap over large pitch presentations. We spotted that some clients would have benefited from more support earlier on in the process so approached bid support experts Sales Engine for help.
“This is a fantastic step forward for us, but more importantly for our customers.” enthused our very own Simon Morton. “We all realise just how crucial bidding for new work is – as the lifeblood of most organisations, the work involved can sometimes be the difference between surviving or dying.
“We often get called in when the client is a long way down the sales cycle. We've seen instances where the client would have benefited from bid support and guidance earlier on.” Continued Morton “We decided to do something about it and our partnership with Sales Engine is the result. I’m delighted that we're now able to provide clients with the full scope of bid support services - something unique in the marketplace.”
January 2010 New month, new customers
